I recently decided to use meatballs, or familiarly known to indians as ‘Kebabs’ in one of my dishes. Im usually not a fan of it but tasting these delicious, oven grilled kebabs in a creamy mayo sauce with a fresh salad, all stuffed in a pita wrap.. really made my heart melt… or maybe that was the cholesterol speaking haha!
Nevertheless as requested by many of you i finally have the time to post the recipe.
Hope you enjoy it! And don’t feel shy to email me pictures of your dishes on firstname.lastname@example.org! 🙂
1 dozen pre packed spicy kebabs available at any local Butcher.
1 packet Garlic mini pita breads available at Habibs Supermarket on Brickfield Road
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tomato diced in cubes
2 cups of lettuce shredded
Half cup onion chopped finely
Few slices of cucumber diced into cubes
1 chilli chopped finely
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
Place your kebabs on a tray and heat your oven to 150°C.
Drizzle olive oil around and over the tray and oven grill your kebabs for about 30 to 40 minutes or until your kebabs are browned on the outside and cooked completely through.
While the kebabs are in the oven, chop your veggies and chilles and place in a bowl, add the mayo and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well and keep aside.
Once the kebabs are done, heat up the pita bread on the stove with a frying pan.
Cut the pita open and stuff with the mayo salad and kebabs.
And there you go! Easy peasy!
