Here’s a spicy seafood recipe for any meal. ☺
3 cups of prawns deveined, without shells
2 Tbls chilli powder
Half a green chilli chopped finely
Half tsp pepper
2 Pinches of tumeric
1tsp garlic paste
Half tsp crushed chillies
Half tsp jeera powder
Half tsp jeera seeds
4tbls tomato puree
Some chopped coriander for garnishing.
1 and a half cups normal white rice
In a deep fry pan add the butter, garlic and jeera seeds on a medium heat and mix for a minute till butter is melted and is sizzling.
Then add in prawns and cook for another 2 minutes before adding the salt, pepper, tumeric, chilli powder, crushed chillies, chopped chillies, jeera powder. Then cook for a futher 2 or 3 minutes and add in the water so it doesnt get too dry. Then add in tomato puree and cook for another minute or so and garnish with coriander.
The prawns will have a saucy curry sauce and be a dark orangy red in color.
In a separate pot boil the rice and add some salt and a pinch of tumeric powder to make the rice yellow. Cook rice for about 15 to 20 minutes on medium heat then drain the water and serve with the prawns.
PS: If you’re not in the mood for rice as it can sometimes be too heavy then you can serve the prawns with rotis or naan.
